Ebac CD30-S Series Industrial Dehumidifier

It's running 24/7 and sucking gallons upon gallons of water from 1,000 square ft by 2.5 ft crawlspace. I've encapsulated the crawlspace as best I can, but property has major drainage issues and water/moisture is literally finding its way through or under foundation. The Ebac CD30 is the only thing keeping moisture levels in check, stopping mold and dry rot to beams/subflooring. Compact design made maneuvering it into crawlspace much easier. Would I buy this unit again? YEP

I bought the Ebac CD30 for my crawl space (approximately 1200 square feet). I live in the southeast, a very humid area, and was regularly seeing relative humidity levels above 70% in the crawl space with mold present. In addition, newly installed teak hardwood floors on the first floor began to cup after only 2 months of installation, an indication of high moisture levels in the subfloor. This unit was recommended by a professional waterproofing company in addition to wrapping the crawl space with 15 mil plastic. The waterproofing company stated that the installation of this dehumidifier was a critical component of controlling the air humidity and also said this unit specifically was very reliable and efficient. It was installed with a permanent drain to the outside.

The unit is quiet, with no noise heard in any living area. Because of the defrost feature, the unit can remove water within the typical temperature of my crawl space, approximately 60-70 degrees. F. The unit is basic, with the only control being the humidity level dial, so it does require you have a humidity reader to check the relative humidity levels of the space.

Since installation, I have not seen relative humidity in the crawl space rise above 55%. The unit has run constantly for several months now with no problems whatsoever. Moisture levels in the subfloor have dropped from around 20% to 8% and the hardwood floors have returned to nearly flat. I have also not seen any significant change in my power bills. I would definitely recommend this unit as a rugged crawl space dehumidifier

The product arrived on a timely basis. All of the components were in the box. The set up was very easy and took less than 30 minutes. Took very little time to feel the change in the humidity in the garage where we put the unit. We had an earlier version of the same unit (about 7 years old and bought by the previous owners)- the main difference was how quiet the new one runs- it's hard to hear it working.

I got this unit because I've have freeze-up problems with other dehumidifiers and this one is supposed to work down to 33 degrees or whatever it is. I hope it does.

Haven't used it yet -- will have to wait until summer humidity to try it out. I like the compact design and ruggedness. I'm a bit concerned that it may have too small a capacity to handle my basement, but if it can do an honest 17 pints a day I think it ought to keep up. I'll start it in the Spring when the humidity first begins to rise, so it doesn't have to contend with an already-saturated basement.

It's small enough to fit between the ceiling joists. It would be nice if it had provisions for installing it between joists.
It's a bit early for me to recommend it, but I'll say that if it works as expected I would certainly recommend it.
