Methods of Dehumidification
Dehumidification uses two main methods: condensation and adsorption. Condensation is for refrigeration dehumidifiers. Adsorption is for desiccant dehumidifiers. The latter works best in cool climates and very low humidity. Unlike refrigeration units, they operate well in freezing temperatures without producing excess water.
Here’s how they work:
Air, or Process Air, flows over a wheel coated with Silica Gel, which absorbs moisture. Then, dry air exits the dehumidifier. Meanwhile, as the wheel turns, another air stream, called Regeneration Air, is heated. This air releases moisture from the wheel. Finally, the hot, moist air is expelled outside. This process ensures efficient and reliable dehumidification.
